I know lots of us have made god’s eyes at camp with 4 sticks and cheap skeins of yarn, but Jay Mohler takes this simple craft to a whole new level. First seen at This is Colossal. About Jay Mohler:
South Carolina-based Etsy artist Jay Mohler has found a calling making Ojos de Dios (a.k.a. god’s eyes) with up to six sticks, twelve sides, and undulating intricate woven patterns. His creations are constructed from the very same humble materials that many of us associate with a camp craft — colorful yarn and sticks — plus, a healthy dose of ingenuity and a deep interest in Tibetan and Huichol artifacts and mandalas.
Let me know what phase of mandala weaving you’d like to learn, and I’ll prepare sticks and yarn woven exactly to that amount of weaving, and we’ll weave together with my constant guidance, based on my many years of experience. There is no faster or more comprehensive way to learn then one-on-one personal teaching from a master of the subject.
